Green cardamom supplementation showed overall beneficial effects on glucose indices, lipids, and liver status. Compared with placebo, it significantly increased irisin, HDL-C, and QUICKI and decreased fasting insulin, HOMA-IR, and triglycerides, with time-by-treatment interaction p-values < 0.001 for fasting insulin, HOMA-IR, QUICKI, HDL-C, and irisin, and 0.005 for triglycerides. LDL-C decreased in unadjusted analyses but only showed a trend after adjustment; fasting glucose, total cholesterol, and BMI did not change significantly.
